At Blue Sky Physiotherapy & Wellness Center of North Vancouver, the Kinesiology team uses the latest science-based research and assessment to assist you in rehabilitating and enhancing your performance. Our kinesiologists work to build you an exercise program to strengthen your weak muscles, stretch tight muscles and joints, and help you re-learn proper movement patterns to prevent and treat injuries.
Clinic Kinesiologists have an extensive referral network and a proven record of success in providing exercise rehab programs to clients referred from many professions and organizations. Active rehabilitation is a program in which exercise and education form the foundations for therapy. Each training program is designed and executed by a registered physiotherapist and kinesiologist. During your initial visit, the focus will be on completing a thorough assessment of your baseline strength and flexibility, as well as establishing your training goals. This assessment will enable our physiotherapist to design a program that is both safe and effective for you. Your program may include elements of core strengthening, postural re-education, functional training, cardiovascular endurance, and flexibility.
Your physiotherapist or kinesiologist will introduce you to the core starting blocks, which will be followed by an at-home exercise program. During subsequent visits, your physiotherapist and kinesiologist will continually reassess your program and make any necessary adjustments to help you stay on track and achieve your goals.
As a team, we leverage our in-depth knowledge of anatomy and biomechanics, along with exercise principles, to provide you with a comprehensive exercise program tailored to your specific goals. Additionally, our physiotherapists demonstrate each exercise so that you know exactly how to train at home or in your local gym.
If you get hurt, stop playing. Continuing to play or exercise can cause more harm. At In Blue Sky Physiotherapy & Wellness Center, rehab treatment begins with the RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation) method to relieve pain, reduce swelling, and speed healing. Other possible treatments include pain relievers, immobilization of the injured area, rehabilitation, and sometimes surgery.
